  • Visit Britain special interest golf tour.

Visit Britain, Our NorfolkAugust 18th 2013.

A Visit Britain 4 day golf tour for journalists included a 1/2 day North Norfolk 'best of' itinerary planned and accompanied by Our Norfolk.  Following lunch at Byfords in Holt, we snooped around an antique shop or two then visited Back To The Garden to see local produce in a glorious old Norfolk barn setting. Our trip then took in the coast through Cley with it's windmill and Blakeney Quay which was busy with crabbing children. We then went on to sample the delights of Holkham Bay. Although the tide was coming in, it was still a bit of a trudge to the sea but through picturesque sand dunes. The wide open skies of the bay delighted those present! We enjoyed a leisurely supper in The Pigs Pub in Edgefield which included Norfolk specials such as potted pork and Cromer crab. The Visit Britain contingent especially liked the Scotch Eggs and Piccalilli - both firsts for them!
